The Healing Power of Thieves, Peppermint, and Frankincense Essential Oils

Don’t you just hate it when you little one is sick? I do. They are so precious and little, and you don’t want to see them suffer or be in pain. Our daughter recently was in pain when she would cough hard. Her chest would hurt a bit, which I knew was not a good thing.

I really debated taking her to one of those urgent med places to get her checked out. However, the only thing I could think they’d do for her (or push ME to do for her) is give her steroids. Unfortunately, her brother that is very similar to her had a crazy reaction to steroids the only time he’s had them. He got the shakes, couldn’t get comfortable, and even was acting restless, aggitated, and jittery.

Since I determined that’s probably where they would start, I would try a natural alternative first and see what it would do. I could always take her to a doctor if the natural method didn’t work.

I recently purchased the Young Living Everyday Oils kit which has 9 essential oils, including Frankincense, Thieves, and Peppermint. I had heard how well all these oils worked and even had personal success with Lavender, Peppermint, Lemon, and Thieves.

I decided to put Peppermint diluted in olive oil directly on her chest to help her lungs and boost her breathing. Also, feet are a very good receptive area of the body to rub oils into. I chose Thieves for it’s anti-microbial properties in case the cough was bacteria or viral related. I chose Frankincense because of it’s amazing healing properties, even on the cellular level. Of course, these also had to be diluted with the olive oil because they were going on a child and because Thieves, especially, can burn when put directly, undiluted on the skin.

I started one afternoon with the application. Almost instantly, her cough was cut down by 70%. That evening, I rubbed a second dose of Peppermint on her chest. The next evening, I used all three oils on her again at bedtime.

Each day her cough got more and more weakened and less frequent! She complained even less about her chest.

After four full days, her cough disappeared almost totally and she rarely, if ever, complained about her chest. Amazing what essential oils from plants can do for the human body!!

Here are a few other great uses for these oils…
