After getting 5 pounds of grass-fed beef this past Friday, I figured what better way to start it off than with burgers on the grill. And not just any burgers ~ Kickin’ Burgers! These turned out better than I imagined and will definitely be going on the menu list more frequently.
1 pound grass-fed beef
4 tbsp salsa
Sea salt, to taste
Onion powder, to taste
Garlic powder, to taste
Preheat your grill or grill pan. Separate the pound of ground beef into 4 equal sections. Place one section on a plate and pat to flatten. Sprinkle with salt, onion powder, and garlic powder. Mash beef well into a ball to combine ingredients. Pat flat again, and create a well in the center of the beef. Add 1 tbsp of salsa (heat of your liking) to the center. Mash again, incorporating all the ingredients. Flatten and shape into a burger. Continue the same way with the other 3 sections of meat.
Grill for approximately 6 minutes per side.
Make these burgers extra spicy with hot salsa and added diced jalapeno peppers!
Top with avocado slices, tomato slices, or whatever you prefer. This can be eaten plain on a plate or on a gluten-free Chebe roll (precook these or cook them as your are grilling the burgers).
Serves 4. Enjoy with fresh salad greens and some broccoli, asparagus, or even sweet peas!
