Fortunately, in the last five years of running multiple tests, biopsies, MRIs, and even a spinal tap, trying to figure out a diagnosis for our daughter, we have learned that she doesn’t have cancer.
However, there are plenty of children in the world fighting cancer, this very minute.
There is nothing harder in this world than seeing your helpless child suffering from something that seems so far out of your grasp to affect and change. But is it really outside your grasp?
Scientists have been getting closer and closer to finding the cause of cancer. Plenty of alternative healthcare practitioners have actually cured cancer, yet you don’t hear about it on the evening news. As the food and pharmaceutical documentary, FoodMatters, states, “good health makes a lot of sense, but not a lot of dollars.”
In all of my researching, trying to get Faith and my boys as healthy as possible, I have come across a great deal of information that can help you reduce your children’s risk of cancer immediately!
1) Drop their animal products intake to a mere 5% or less of their diet. A study in rats showed no cancer clusters when given an animal diet of 5%. However, the group fed 20% animal products developed cancer clusters in the liver. As a final test, the rats were put on a varying diet of 20% animal products for 3 weeks, then switched to 5% animal products for the next 3 weeks, and so on. What the scientists found was that, when eating only 5% animal products, even AFTER eating 20%, not only did it halt the growth of cancer, it actually started to go away!
Animal products include such things as beef, chicken, eggs, milk, yogurt, butter, etc.
2) Eat more vegetables! When the body gets too acidic, which is what tends to happen when eating animal products, disease is able to thrive in that environment. When you include a diet mainly of vegetables, that helps you maintain a proper, more alkaline pH balance, which ultimately, makes it much harder for a disease, such as cancer, to develop or continue to grow.
Some wonderful veggies to include in your child’s diet are organic dark, leafy greens, such as spinach or collard greens, carrots, cucumbers, mushrooms, squashes of all types, seaweeds like nori or wakame, organic bell peppers, onions, and many, many more!
3) Remove most, if not all, processed foods from their meals and snacks. Processed foods are simply that ~ processed! By the time the processing plant is finished with them, most of them are so far from the original plant they started with that synthetic vitamins and minerals have to be added back in because the product is so nutrient-dead that it has to be “enriched” again. There is no life in processed foods. When you plant one into the ground, what do you get? Only rot and decay. Not an apple tree that you would get from an apple seed!
4) Cut out sugars. Typically, children eat way too many sweets. Between snacks, desserts, and even fruit alike, they eat way too much. Again, this doesn’t help the body maintain proper pH balance. Yes, healthy, organic fruits can be very good for you ~ however, in moderation.
A great way to add more vegetables into your child’s diet is when using the fruit. Make smoothies! As long as you don’t overdo the ratio of veggies to fruits, you will have a tasty smoothie with hidden nutrition, too!
Personally, I like feeding my family non-hidden veggies, too. If you hide them all the time, you are missing out on a great opportunity to teach your kids the importance of vegetables, what they do for us, how they keep us healthy, and giving them the chance to make the right choice by putting vegetables in their mouths on their own. Kids already prefer the sugary foods to the healthier foods. Every chance you get for them to make the best choice on their own sets them up for success in eating right when they are an adult, when you aren’t there making their dinner for them!!
Of course, there can be other factors, like genes, that can lead to diseases like cancer. However, if those aren’t a factor in your family, following these basic steps above can help shrink your children’s threat of cancer today!!
Have you changed any of these things yet with your family and noticed a difference in health?
