Skin, Skin Everywhere and What Are We Teaching Our Kids?

I’m tired of skin. I’m tired of it showing in places where it needs to be left up to the imagination, and I’m tired of everyone making such a big deal about what everyone’s looks like.

We have become a very shallow society when even our children are thinking they need to dress a certain way or look a certain way to be “sexy.”

How do they even know what that word means at age 5 & 6?

I’m not saying I don’t think people should look their best and be sexy ~ however, we need to look at how we have defined “sexy” and see how well that lines up with reality.

I’ve always been thin. Actually, I’m one of those people that was so thin growing up that I’d hear quite often, “do you have to jump around in the shower to get wet?” (I still can hear me saying it in a whiny voice in my head!)

Then… I had kids.

THEN… I had twins.

Bodies don’t stay the same shape as they age, have kids, go through stressful circumstances… doing life!

We can’t expect our significant other to stay the same, nor ourselves. It’s just not reality. Most of the girls in magazines have had eating disorders, are on the verge of it, or just plain have a body-type that’s totally unusual.

Because I gained weight with my pregnancies and had to lose it, it gave me a new respect for people going through weight loss issues, those who work out all of the time, and those that feel so bad in their skin because of the cloud of “sexy” society has put on them.

Fortunately, through some great workout programs and eating healthy, I was able to drop back to my pre-pregnancy weight fairly quickly. Of course, I still have my “twin skin” that wouldn’t go away without surgery… but my muscle separation is getting better… which means my tummy is flatter.

Yes, I want a flat tummy. Who doesn’t?

But am I going to beat myself up because it hasn’t fully happened yet? No. I’m going to celebrate the successes I have had and continue working out and eating wisely.

If people would only realize that “sexy” is a bi-product of strong, there would be a total shift of focus. We need to work on getting healthy bodies, not just sexy ones. You can be super thin and extremely toxic and unhealthy. Ask me how I know!

Our focus needs to be health from the inside out ~ eating more veggies, adding exercise 4-5 times a week, and pushing ourselves a little bit more every day… more fresh veggies, more reps of bicep curls. Sexy will follow. Get strong first!

The use of essential oils with health amazes me. A friend of mine has lost 10 pounds in about 8 weeks just simply using grapefruit essential oil in her water and rubbing it on her core mid-section. She is also using other oils and drinking NingXia Red, a wolfberry (goji) drink with Orange, Tangerine, and Lemon essential oils, to get even healthier on the inside.

Could you imagine a life where your head is clear (no more “brain fog”), your eyes are bright, your teeth are white (without the use of harsh chemical whiteners), you have the endurance to race around the field with your kids playing soccer until it gets dark without getting winded in the first 10 minutes… a life of strength, health, beauty. Imagine popping out of bed every morning, ready to take on your day… and you only had 6 hours of sleep because you don’t need any more. Imagine feeling great inside with no IBS, bloating, cramping, mouth sores, or constipation. Imagine feeling good after a workout… getting your muscles stronger and stronger.

Now, imagine your kids seeing what you are doing, how you are feeling, the changes you’re making, and wanting to participate and be just like you!

Why are you putting this off? Why are you so settled into your life of mediocrity that you aren’t willing to just see a glimpse of the other side of health? Why are you so tired of being tired, yet you won’t change shoveling in that greasy burger or make time in the morning to even exercise for 10 minutes? Why haven’t you thought of yourself as special enough to get the essential oils you need and use them for optimal, vibrant health?

There is only one you. No one can replace you. No one can come close.

Your health is the one thing that’s the hardest to replace in your life. Don’t wait! Get your exercise program, your healthy foods, and your essential oils started today.

There are people in your life counting on you. They depend on you.

Why not jump on this? What’s the worst that could happen? You get healthy, strong, AND sexy?!?!

Wow. That seems like a real bummer (NOT!).

Now, get off your rear and get in gear.

I’ll help you every step of the way…

    1. Carolyn, I was wondering about oils, too, at first. However, I have had them work amazingly well for both myself and other friends and family members. My sister has personally fought mold in her house with essential oils. AWESOME stuff!!

    1. Ron, you should. I have fought off illnesses, prevented illnesses, and even have a friend who has lost weight due to oils! They are amazing ~ a God-given gift that’s been here since biblical days!!

    1. It really does! I can’t believe they are making shows about it, too… feeding the craziness instead of telling them they are beautiful just like they are and need to just play and be a kid.

  1. How you feel makes a huge difference; I know the difference of when I don’t exercise and when I don’t use my oils. I love to feel great when I am at home and when I am around people; thanks!
