Incredible Weight Loss with Very Little Effort

I’m blown away. I knew essential oils worked – but like this?!?!

A friend of mine recently purchased grapefruit essential oil to use as a weight loss tool. “Grapefruit?!” Yes, grapefruit.

Did you know that grapefruit actually dissolves fat?

Did you know it fights fluid retention?

Did you know it battles obesity for you?

I doubt it because I didn’t know it either… not until my friend started using it!

And here’s the even bigger kicker – she is only drinking it by adding drops to her water and rubbing it on topically!!

She was averaging out to losing 1 pound per week using grapefruit essential oil and didn’t even change her food intake, type of foods she was eating, or her exercise level. Amazing!

Another friend of mine lost 5 pounds in about 2 weeks by drinking it alone!!

Needless to say, I have just added it to my monthly order of essential oils to have in my own collection – not just to keep me trim and thin (let’s face it, we all have extra bulges we’d prefer to live without!), but look at what else this astounding oil can do…

I will post my results for you, as well, once I get my oil in and get started drinking it up!

To add some grapefruit to your oils collection or even weight loss regimen, simply place an order today for trustworthy organic and therapeutic-grade grapefruit goodness.

Be sure to come back to this post and let me know how well it works for you – I’d LOVE to hear and share your story with others!!

This 1 Thing May Be Leading You Directly Into Disease

The #1 search on the internet is related to illnesses. When asked, most people are concerned first about their health before any other area of their lives. And in this age of the S.A.D. (Standard American Diet) lifestyle, they should be.

One of the major things affecting the rate of disease in this country and around the world is our food. We have gone so far beyond our roots, what our ancestors ate, and natural foods out of the ground, that we are now feeling it through sickness and disease.

Did you know the foods you eat can either produce an environment condusive to healing or illness?

Of course, there are several things at play here, like the nutritional content of the foods, which vitamins and minerals are in them, and if they are synthetically added or naturally derived. However, today we are discussing how what you put into your mouth alters your pH balance.

Disease thrives in an acidic environment. Unfortunately, most of the foods in the Standard American Diet, as it is today, breeds acidic environments. Processed foods, meats, grains, dairy, and sugar all raise your level of acidity. Chemicals, drugs, herbicides, and pesticides are also acid-producing. However, certain fruits and more vegetables, like dark greens, change your body to be more alkaline. Did you know most other countries eat their meat as a side item, yet, here in the U.S., we eat it as our main dish, putting some of the most taxing digestive processes into play. And on top of that, you are creating an atmosphere for disease to take root and flourish.

This is not to say you must always eat alkaline foods. However, most people eat too much from the acidic foods and therefore, cause problems in their bodies. It’s about choosing more healthy foods and including them in your meals more often!

Some alkalizing vegetables & fruits:
~ broccoli
~ carrot
~ cauliflower
~ collard greens
~ eggplant
~ garlic
~ green beans
~ peas
~ kale
~ lettuce
~ mushrooms
~ tomatoes
~ avocado
~ apple
~ apricot
~ grapes
~ lemon
~ orange
~ peach

Here is a more robust list of which foods are acid-producing and which are more alkalizing.

By eating more of the right things, you change your system inside to make it harder for disease to spread or even exist!

How can you make changes to your family’s food choices that can help lead to life and health rather than disease and destruction?

“As I see it, every day you do one of two things: build health or produce disease in yourself.” ~ Adele Davis

Recipe: Paleo Chili

I can eat chili any time of year! It’s delicious, filling, and can be stretched a long way in our 6-member family. Typical chili is loaded full of beans, so I wanted to create a paleo version. Here’s what I came up with…

Ingredients:

1lb ground beef, ground turkey, or ground chicken
2 cups organic beef broth
1/4 head of cabbage, chopped
4-5 carrots, sliced
1 red bell pepper, chopped
1 small onion, chopped
10 button or portabella mushrooms, sliced
2 tomatoes, cubed
chili powder, to taste
cumin, to taste
sea salt, to taste

The antioxidants in cabbage are known to help protect against colon, breast, and prostate cancers.

It’s also helps reduce LDL (bad) cholesterol.

Cabbage provides more vitamin C than oranges, which helps the body develop resistance against infectious diseases and free radicals.

It also contains vitamin B1, vitamin, B5, vitamin B6, vitamin K, potassium, manganese, magnesium, and iron!

Cook ground meat in skillet until browned. Add bell peppers, carrots, and beef broth. Heat until veggies get softer. Add onions and mushrooms, continuing to stir occasionally until cooked through. Add salt, cumin, and chili powder to taste. Mix in cabbage and tomatoes and let simmer for another 20-30 minutes, until vegetables are at your preferred tenderness.

Serve and enjoy!

WARNING! You May Become Addicted

Did you know there are people with jobs that are specifically trying to figure out how to make your food addictive? The more you crave it, the more you buy it. The more you buy, the more the food manufacturer profits.

So, now, not only does that “strawberry” treat have no real strawberries in it, but it’s full of “artificial and natural ingredients” and laced with additional chemicals to make you want more and more of it. And why wouldn’t you? There’s no real nutritional value in it anyway.

Our kids are exposed to all sorts of horrible food choices every day, yet most parents have no clue how bad these processed foods really are.

First of all, let’s take corn. Did you know corn syrup and high fructose corn syrup are in almost everything in a box or bag… aka, processed! “So?” you say. Corn, unless it’s organic, has been genetically modified… at least enough of it has that I’m not trusting any of it for MY kids. When given the choice of sweet, organic corn and genetically modified corn, pigs pick the real thing. Why shouldn’t you? Especially for your growing kids!!

Now, let’s talk about those calories in all those snack and fast foods. You eat a burger and fries or, perhaps, chicken nuggets and chips and wonder why you are fatigued, overweight, apathetic, and foggy. Your body and your kids don’t get nutrition out of those things. All they get are empty calories, coupled with the addictive chemicals added to the foods, which makes everyone just want to eat and eat and eat. It’s not your fault. It’s the way our bodies are made. You can eat 500 calories of fresh, organic fruits and veggies, and your stomach will trigger to your brain that you are full. However, when you eat the same amount of calories through less nutritious, nutrient-lacking foods, you don’t feel full on the same amount of calories because your body needs more. It needs those missing vitamins and minerals. Couple that with the addictive nature of most processed foods these days, and you have a dangerous slope of getting addicted to foods and eating almost constantly just to feel full!

Be careful. Don’t fall into this trap. The only ones who benefit are the food manufacturers from your wallet!

And just like it affects you, it’s affecting your kids. Did you know 1 in every 5 American four-year olds is considered obese?! That is a startling statistic to me! And it should be to you.

If your kids are anything like mine, their little bodies are sensitive to these things. Start listening to their health complaints. These food choices may already be affecting them negatively. And they may be addicted already, too.

We may not be able to control what’s in processed foods, which take up most of the grocery stores these days. However, we can definitely control what we put in our own mouths and what we choose to set on our tables for our families.

Don’t get sucked into the game of “living to eat.” We eat to live our lives of blessing, fun, excitement, happiness, and HEALTH!

How can you change what you eat today to benefit yourself and your kids for future good health and better food choices?

Recipe: Gluten Free Vegetable Wrap

I love flatbread wraps because they are so versatile. You can stuff them with all sorts of goodies ~ veggies, meats, salads, etc. The other night I fed this to my son, and he told his sister, who missed the meal, “I had the best dinner tonight!” Life doesn’t get much better hearing your kid say that after you have fed them a plate full of veggies!!

Ingredients:

4 Chebe flatbreads (follow directions on packaging for mixing… cooking instructions below)*
Drizzle of olive oil or coconut oil
2 portabello mushroom caps, sliced into strips
1 organic sweet (red or orange) bell pepper, sliced into strips
Broccoli sprouts
Organic Spring Mix Lettuces
A clean, natural ranch dressing, such as Bolthouse Farms or Marie’s
Asparagus or another green vegetable as side dish
Sea salt, to taste

Mix chebe according to packaging instructions. Once thoroughly mixed, divide into 4 balls of dough. Roll out each ball into approximately 6-8″ round flatbreads. Cook each flatbread in a medium-heat skillet, flipping after a few minutes on each side until bread is cooked. Set aside.

*Chebe is gluten-free. That’s why it was chosen for this recipe instead of regular flatbread or pita bread.

Chebe is an awesome gluten-free product! You can make rolls, breadsticks, flatbread, cinnamon rolls, pizza crust, etc., all with one all-purpose mix.

It’s also delicious with herbs like basil or oregano added to the dough for things like pizza crust!

Drizzle oil in skillet. Add bell peppers and saute for a few minutes. Add mushrooms and continue sauteing both the peppers and mushrooms until cooked through (unless you prefer your veggies more raw). Sprinkle with sea salt.

Meanwhile, steam your green vegetable side dish in a separate pan.

Once all veggies are cooked through to your liking, spread a thin layer of ranch dressing on chebe flatbread, add a layer of spring mix lettuce, add mushrooms and pappers, and top with sprouts.

Prep your side veggie with sea salt, roll up your wrap, and enjoy your dinner!
